Maria
A different story but very well written. I liked it a lot. I thought that the end with the painting was gruesome.

Carolyn
Despite a somewhat unlikeable protagonist, the story was pretty interesting up to a point. I did stick with it to hear how it ended, but the ending was pretty weak because a) the main character was ridiculously slow to catch on to things (even things that had already been discussed with him) and b) some of the explanation was so unrealistic that it didn’t tie things up satisfactorily. So it was worth a listen if you have a lot of time on your hands, but don’t expect an ending that neatly ties the mystery together.

A LibriVox Listener
The story starts off well, it continues as A Tale of the Unexpected. However the reader of the last chapter is almost incomprehensible. Not only are words mispronounced constantly the over dramatic rendition ruins the ending. Librivox should have checked this.
Very very good!

Suzanne
Weird plot, weird villain, weird characters, not a book I’d recommend.
